The Australian government is advising Australians to reconsider travel to Indonesia, including Bali.
The following warning was posted on their website:
We advise you to reconsider your need to travel to Indonesia, including Bali, at this time due tothe very high threat of terrorist attack.
If you do decide to travel to Indonesia, you should exercise extreme caution. We continue to receive reports indicating that terrorists are planning attacks against a range of targets, including Western interests and places frequented by foreigners.
The governement is leaving it up to individuals to decide whether they should travel to Indonesia.
"All I can do is to say to people there is a travel advice so far as Indonesia and Bali is concerned, they should contemplate that, they should think about that, they should take that advice," Foreign Affairs Minister Stephen Smith said.
Despite the warnings, many Australians are still planning to travel to Bali with Jetstar reporting flights to the island full.
The so called 'Bali Bombers' are set to be executed in November. Three people are planned to be executed for their roles in the 2002 bombings which left 202 people including 88 Australians dead. The bombers have made threats that there will be more bombings and violence if they are executed.
